PostSubject: Movie thread.   Movie thread. EmptyFri Oct 03, 2008 2:53 pm

Another topic which might get some feedback. Ok, as the topic says.. this topic is about movies. Some movie you watched recently and really liked it? Or possibly you want to say something about some classics? You can name some of your all time favourite movies, talk about anything recent happening in the movie industry and such.

Braveheart is bollocks.

But Starship Troopers is EPIC!

Kingdom of Heaven is pretty awesome.

I, personally love sagas, and those are Star Wars (basically grew up on those films and those are my all time favourite), the LotR and of course... The Godfather! There are some stand alone titles such as Braveheart, Sin City and probably some more which I forgot to add.

The older Star Wars were good, even if the Stormtroopers were seemingly blind.

"He's over there" *points*

"Get him!"

*Shoots the other way*

Now, Monsters Inc. That is a film and a half.

Hahahaha love you guys posts so far!

Recently enjoyed Walli (it's good even though Disney did they're best to make it look shite in the adverts). Forbidden Kingdom roxor.

HELL BOY TWO OH MY GOD YES THANK YOU PLEASE.

Ahem.

Dark Knight was a bit frikkin good too - I expected it to be "good entertainment" like the first one and then it was full of outstanding scripts, acting and so forth. Being shallow and selfish, made me realise how much I'm going to miss our Heath.

Vampire Hunter D - been getting the books as they've been translated into English, they're bloody fantastic.

And, of course Full Metal Alchemist (who you callin' short, so small I'm a spec of dust in the ground?!)

I'm a bit mainstream on films I try and watch all good looking films that are released nowadays.

I'm really randomly a fan of The Fifth Element, i don't know why I just really like that film.

I also really like pretty much any Film with Simon Pegg in it, naturally Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are the best, his new one How to Lose friends and alienate people is pretty good too, there are some top moments in that film go see it now!?

Any zombie pandemic, or general end of the world stuff, or game to film things. Speaking of which Max Payne is out in October and with the game storyline I don't see how they would get away with ruining it in a film so i'd suggest to everyone if you want to see a film with a deep dark and powerful storyline, go see Max Payne when it comes out, or play the game. Dribble.

Films are good.

Star Wars as well is great. Haha i'm still chuckling at that Ertdorf, i love the fact that they're supposed to be the best trained soldiers in the galaxy.

Cue the Stormtooper Effect!

I watched Fight Club again at the weekend. I forgot how awesome it is.

Fifth Element it wicked, I'd forgotten about that... Die hard - More hard ass Bruce Willis.

28 Days Later (better than 28 Weeks), Dog Soldiers, That sort of thing, they're all good.

Yeah, there's me thinking I'm all evolved and civilised and watching that film, there's the Cave-girl in me yelling "Hubba! Hubba!" and waving her club.

I feel remiss for not raising Kurosawa films, well mostly the ones with Toshiro Mifune in, Yojimbo and Sanjuro in particular. Although his take on Shakespear's Macbeth is a must for any Shakespear fans Smile

If you are ever forced to sit through Meet the Spartans, 300 will never look the same again...

Was that a historical program? If it helps I already knew (with avid interest) the history of the Spartans and their culture (LOVED how the sexes lived apart and thus their women were afforded an amazingly different life to any other culture).

Or was it an awful bit on the DVD where you met the actors who were so dull it's poke ones eyes out with a spoon time?
